Description

I wanted a quilt that would not fade so even though Irish Cream appears to be whole cloth, it is pieced, hand appliquéd and hand quilted. Scale changes in straight grid, stipple quilting, cathedral window strips and trapunto give lots of texture.

Description

This quilt is a tribute to the riches and complexity of African culture and arts. The traditional Dresden Plate block is explored in variations with African fabrics. Cowrie shells, primitive hand-stitched embellishments and digitized embroidery, jungle foliage, thread-painted animals & couched silk yarns expand the theme.

Description

On his return from a motorcycle trip, my husband, Randy, brought "party favors" for my bee. He brought 10 fat-quarters of 30's reproduction fabrics, which we divided into fat 16th's for a challenge project. I intended to make a Dresden Plate wall quilt, but it insisted in growing into a bed quilt.

Description

A love of certain designer fabrics and batiks inspired me to create this colorful quilt. Paper Piecing the arcs was a technique I wanted to try, so I used patterns from the New York Beauties Book. The coordination/placement of fabrics, metallic stitching & beading are my design.
