My Dear Jane quilt has been a year long journey through the physical ebb and flow of active Lupus and Sjogren's Syndrome. My Mighty God strengthened my body daily, and my wonderful husband, Tom, supported my every stitch. The quilt's completion is a personal victory. I am richly blessed.

The border was inspired by a picture of the 2006 AQS calendar cover quilt, which had rows of sunflowers. I thought the colors in the blocks would be perfect for sunflowers.

Description |
This quilt was my first attempt at "Needle turn". My choice of pattern was "Botanical Tiles" by Dinah Jefferies, her pattern company is Garden City Gateworks. The layout design was my creation and also combining machine embroidery putting the name of the quilt on the front. I made this quilt in memory of my parents, Howard and Nola Lightfoot. The song "In the Garden" was played at both their funerals. I think they would be very proud and pleased at the finished quilt.
