Description

This quilt was inspired by two photos I took in Pennsylvania. When I started in 2006, I had been quilting for about a year and felt I didn't have the skills to get my desired effects. I took classes to learn new techniques and finally finished in 2007.

Description

A 2007 Miami Valley Art Quilt Network Challenge entry using word "masks". Hand appliquéd peacock feather frame surrounds 3 appliquéd trapunto masks embellished with crystals, Glitter thread, and gold-counched cording. Feathers on mask quilted the Glitter. Appliqué leaves are Lumiere painted with crystal accents. Lumiere paint & Glitter embellish background.

This quilt was part of a challenge by my bee. Each were given 99 fabrics. All fabrics had to be used while adding only 1 fabric.

The ribbons are from a fabric which challenged me to use them in new ways. The rings are perfect colors for the ribbons and background.
