Frieda received her BS in art history, with a minor in ceramics, at the University of Vermont. In her studio Frieda creates contemporary art quilts and one of a kind wearables. Her specialties include, fusing, original pieced quilts, creative machine quilting, and designing elegant and original garments. Frieda lives in Elgin, IL.

She has taught and lectured nationally and internationally for shops, guilds and major conferences. Sue has been the recipient of the 1998 Best of Show Award at AQS for “The Beatles Quilt” (made with her sister, Pat Holly), the 2003 IQA Master of Machine Artistry Award and the 2004 AQS Machine Workmanship Award. Sue lives in Ann Arbor, MI.
