Special Events

Special Exhibit

IHQS is delighted to present a fresh and original collection of quilts based on the theme Spice of Life: what gives joy, meaning or excitement to life. Fifty-six talented quiltmakers interpreted the theme by expressing in fabric the often used expression. The quilt makers were given complete freedom as to how they carried out the fiber interpretations of the theme, however, they did have a size restriction. The results range from beautiful to thought-provoking to hilarious, and give viewers a unique opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the best in contemporary quilt art. The quilters invited to participate in this project practice their art in the Pacific Northwest and western Canada. They are members of the Association of Pacific Northwest Quilters.
