Applique Professional, First Place

Entry #205 "Visions" Suzanne Marshall Clayton, MO
       
Visions by Suzanne Marshall   : These beasties are friendly and make me smile. Is it two-headed? Is it a beard or a tail? This quilt took more than two years to complete, being all hand appliquéd, embroidered and quilted. The design is from ancient printer's ornaments.

Radiant Roses by Barbara A. Perrin  

This wedding quilt was made for our oldest son, Les, and his wife Mary. Married in 1999, the quilt took five years to complete. My 14th quilt has trapunto with hand appliqué, and is machine quilted on my home sewing machine. Pattern from Quilts from the Smithsonian by Mimi Dietrich, with original quilting designs.

Sushi by Mary Kay Price   Machine reverse appliqué and thread embellishments are the two main techniques used here. Batik and hand dyes and commercial cottons. Polyester and rayon threads.

Entry #203 "Treasures of Julia's Life" Joanie Zeier Sun Prarie, WI
       
Treasures of Julia's Life by Joanie Zeier   This original design honors the memory of my grandmother with quilted illustrations of her love of faith, family and music. The flowers are hand-appliquéd and I used my there. Now that I've moved away, the quilt reminds me of the good times I had with my friends in Bloomington.
